Marvel Pulls Plug on X-Men and Fantastic Four License From XM Studio

About a week ago, XM Studios Premium Collectibles showed us using their Official Facebook Page what could have been an epic 1/6 scale XMEN vs Sentinel Diorama set…

A little bit more detailed here wherein a bunch of the X-Men is fighting the giant Sentinel!
Arch Angel!

Freaking amazing right? Too bad Marvel is pulling the license for X-Men Characters so XM Studio will be halting at mid production for now!
Here’s the official statement from XM Studio:

“Folks, it’s been a sad day for us… due to reasons we aren’t at liberty to disclose, we have been asked to put a hard stop to all X-Men characters for now. That means Cable can’t be released, and neither can the awesome Sentinel Diorama which we’ve all been so looking forward to. Still, we continue to have faith that this isn’t an indefinite red light forever and you can have our promise we will be back to producing these dream pieces once the coast is clear – no matter how long it takes!”

One user from the Facebook posted:

“This really sucks. Maybe replace with a galactus avengers diorama”George Middleton

In which XM studio replied:

“No Fantastic 4 too… same issue”

Of course the Fantastic 4 license has Galactus in it!

Another user said:

“Freaking Disney. I won’t be visiting the park anymore”Fernando Villanueva

XM Studio replied with class:

“Actually I just returned from a visit to Disney Park and it’s really fun so I wouldn’t recommend boycotting them! ;p”

Ok so we don’t actually know what this means for the Marvel line toy industry as there are a lot of X Men characters lined up in the future like for example Kotobukiya’s All New X-Men Line:

This is probably some corporate and legal issues that my micro brain would not be able to understand anyway. All we can hope for is that this does not hurt the franchise we all grew up loving! Heck Marvel studio survived the 90’s to early 2000’s with their X-Men Comic titles. I also hope that this would not hurt the toys and collectibles industry as well because in the end, the bottom line who suffers will be the fans.

I’m not jumping to any conclusion that Marvel is trying to destroy the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchise just because they don’t have the license for them. I  think Marvel is a great company and a forward thinker. I know they will not hurt characters they created, nurtured, and continues to develop in the comic books because in the event that they get the rights back ( we can hope can we? ), they would need to work 10 x harder just to bring them back up from the ashes if they did destroy the images of the characters.

The previously scheduled Phoenix will be released as scheduled!
